Efficiency techniques

In a busy girl's life, time is a valuable thing. Having extra time means more quality minutes in bed with your laptop and surfthechannel.com, having the unlimited ability to illegally stream movies and tv shows to your viewing pleasure. Extra time means sleep and extra time means more frivolous moments doing nothing with your favorite roommate. So below are a few tricks I've picked up that help me use my time more wisely so I can have joyous moments to do anything I please.

1. Mentally prepare my outfit the night before. When I was smaller, I used to plan out my clothes for the week and put them in a pile. That takes time, effort and commitment I no longer have. Instead, anytime as I'm getting ready for bed, whether I'm brushing my teeth or organizing my things, I'll mentally decide the general logistics of my outfit for the next day. This way, I'm not late in the morning because I was so tired, cranky and indecisive that it took me 30 minutes just to get dressed (which has happened before).

2. Stove top stuffing and mashed potatoes out of the box. I'm not someone who can survive on sandwiches. I like my meals to taste like real adult food. Both the items mentioned are ridiculously easy to prepare, just boil a miniscule amount of water, stir in the dry ingredient, and voila, you have a dish that always hits the spot.

3. Make all phone calls while on long walking commute. I used to make all my calls in the car. Now, since I spend up to an hour and a half a day walking, I consolidate that with my phone calls. It's difficult to just sit and converse. Therefore, I multi-task. And if I must talk at home, I'll pick up my handy bottle of Windex and clean at the same time. Never do one thing at once as long as you can do two.

4. Perform administrative errands, catch up on personal e-mails, stay current with world news and browse fashion while at the office. Keeps you sane when it's hard to concentrate on work, making it possible to get through the day and also finish off necesary tasks.

Now, having done all these things today, I will proceed to enjoy my glorious free hour or two before bed. Do not disturb.
