and proud of it (insert sarcastic one-liner here).
It's time for me to add my commentary on the endless media onslaught that has led up to what women of all ages have been anticipating for months, the female version of the Super Bowl - the Sex and the City movie. Like my peers, SATC is more than a tv show to me - it's an obsession, a religion and a way of life - which is how it became such a cultural phenomenon. For me, it's not the glamour or the sex that catches my attention, it's the honesty and the humor that I love.
Which leads me to the movie itself. In an effort to avoid the crowds, I saw it on Saturday morning, at eleven, before most people are awake. I'll have to say, despite what the critics say, the movie was not a second too long. What I thought was lacking though, was the witty conversation and banter that makes the show so clever and interesting. There were the coffee shop moments with the girls, but the movie just had so much plot to cover, it didn't seem like there was enough time for it. To compensate, however, were 300+ outfit changes including a beyond fabulous Vivienne Westwood wedding gown that was enough to keep any woman captivated.
In spite of all the craziness, the movie itself still managed to feel personal to me, so I'll still be as devoted as ever to my show. To end, I found a video on YouTube someone posted of the shooting of one of the most hilarious scenes in the whole movie. Enjoy, it's fabulous.
